"You dare challenge me?"

10 minutes of early #Uru gameplay footage. Yes, we have this demo to play ourselves but there is something special about this footage. This was recorded when it was new, when the team (that also recorded this footage) still worked on it!

@veotv.bsky.social Oct 9, 2026, 9:39 AM

wha?

@veotv.bsky.social Oct 9, 2026, 7:27 AM

The full 10min "Parable" pitch video @cyan.com created in 2001 to drum up hype and gain interest amongst publishers. "MUDPIE", later known as "Parable" eventually became " #Myst Online " and then " #Uru: Ages Beyond MYST ".

last one for today lol. Sheila Goold as Catherine playing this scene a bit different! Not bad, either! Also this is of course before she was ADR'd by Rengin Altay #Myst #Riven

These ones aren't as offensive as the other ones but "The world has too many couch potatoes already. Riven: A workout for your brain". I hope this agency is no longer active and all their employees were fired and barred from ever working in advertising again lol

@veotv.bsky.social Oct 8, 2026, 3:59 PM

"Think you had a dysfunctional relationship with your father? He never kidnapped your wife, did he? - Riven: The interactive action adventure psycho drama". W H A T T H E A C T U A L F U C K ! ?

@veotv.bsky.social Oct 8, 2026, 3:57 PM

"I thought #Myst was the end of the world...Now i find out there are other worlds... #Riven - The Sequel To Myst".....I have no words. Who the fuck came up with this shit??? XD This is just part one. The entire video is 2h long, but I'll post three short parts where the slogans are being mentioned.

@veotv.bsky.social Oct 8, 2026, 3:21 PM

Some animation samples from #Riven. Notice how in one animation we see the cage having an actual door, too! This was later removed as the cage only went up or down.
