The great thing about flying out of Lansing is leaving home 45 minutes before my flight takes off and not worrying about not getting there in time. The worst part of spending 2.5 hours in Detroit airport on the way home

My 8 yr old's soccer coach is going to cut practice short tonight because of the heat, which is great and well-intentioned, except my 10 yr old's practice isn't getting cut short, which means instead of watching both kids practice, I'll end up melting playing soccer with the 8 yr old in this heat.

It's probably cheating, but showing my kids Immaculate Grid and sending them to find answers in their baseball cards is a fantastic way to keep them occupied for an hour and teach them a lot about random baseball players.

Working on a college campus, but not teaching students, I kind of lose track of when classes are starting, right up until there's suddenly no parking anywhere.
