It's also a time to recognize the cultures, traditions and contributions of Indigenous communities, past and present. Remembering our history honestly helps us better understand where we are today and how we can build a more inclusive future.

Today is an opportunity to learn, remember and reflect. Indigenous Peoples' Day gives us an opportunity to acknowledge the history and experiences of the Indigenous peoples who have lived on this land for generations.

As we continue to celebrate LGBTQ+ Month, today we acknowledge the courage and bravery of those in this community and their choice to live their lives authentically. To those who are unable to celebrate themselves openly, you have our unwavering support.

The goal is simple: make sure eligible Pennsylvania children have access to the early education opportunities they deserve.

This month, we recognize the educators, families & communities who make these programs possible. I recently worked to make HB 1505, which clarifies eligibility for Pre-K funding through Intermediate Units into law.

Every child deserves a strong start. Head Start is a federally funded program that provides early childhood education & services to low-income families. Studies show that children enrolled in Head Start programs are more likely to graduate high school, & college, & end the brutal cycle of poverty

Too many women and girls still struggle to afford the period products they need each month. That can mean missed school, & work and unnecessary stress because someone can't afford a basic necessity. If you want to help, my office serves as a collection site for unopened period products.

Our 5th Annual Trunk or Treat & Family Resource Fair is happening today from 2–4 p.m. at the Ambler YMCA! We're bringing the farm to the parking lot! 🐔🐴🍎 You'll also find a whole barnyard full of organizations ready to connect families with community resources. See you there!

It's Latina Equal Pay Day, a reminder that pay disparities continue across the country, w/Latina workers facing some of the largest gaps. Latina women make only 53 cents for every $1.00 for non-Hispanic men. Everyone who does the same job deserves a fair shot @ the same paycheck.
