Definitely will!
Not clear? It's because they're bad! It's because they're stupid and bad and hate immigrants and don't care what happens to them!
Thanks Adam!
The paper is open access so give it a read if you're interested! Lots more in the paper than I could fit in the thread, and more in the appendix that I couldn't fit in the paper!
These results suggest that certain, facially race neutral, concerns raised by residents may be driven or influenced by racial animus.
Substantively, this study provides the first causally identified evidence of which I am aware that racial bias and worries about non-White neighbors moving in remain motivations for opposing new housing for a non-trivial share of White Americans.
The list experiment on the other hand, is well adapted to identifying whether a certain attitude exists at all.
Methodologically, this suggests that researchers should think twice about using factorial or conjoint designs for uncovering bias. Factorial and conjoint experiments are not designed to uncover sensitive attitudes, and can *only* show evidence of those attitudes if those attitudes win out.
Using a multi-experiment design, I show that factorial experiments may fail to uncover racial bias, but a list experiment finds evidence of significant racial bias as a motivator against new housing construction.
I investigate this in the context of opposition to new housing development in the respondent's neighborhoods.

How we measure racial bias is important, but there is no clear agreement (rather a lively methodological debate) among political scientists about the best way to do so.
Made empanadas tonight for the first time. Frankly, kinda crushed it. Best outcome I've had for a first cut at a recipe in a while.
It is SO much worse. Like, not to gas myself up too much, but I think I am a pretty good teacher and whenever I have to teach online I'm like "wow I suck at this"
Spoke too soon. 4-1 win comfier. NLCS bound baby.
There must be some kind of unwritten rule I'm not aware of that says the dodgers aren't allowed to have a comfortable win in a postseason game. Christ on a cracker this team is going to be the end of me.
Wouldn't be a US-Mexico game without a red card now would it?
Super cool how everyone is insane now
Obviously the question of non-citizen voting in local elections is a thorny one, but these are people who, in a lot of ways, are bearing the brunt of the housing shortage, but who, in most cases, have genuinely no way to express their preference for more housing electorally.
Somewhat crazy crosstab from a 2025 PPIC survey. Very substantial majority of Californians support building more apartments, 72% overall, but the percentage of noncitizens that support more housing is 92%!!!
