@loganshobbylair.bsky.social100% agree, HIPS has a lot of advantages and holds detail pretty well. I don't mind metal or resin, some are quite good! But pining can be a pain on larger models where the risk of an arm or back pack falling off is very real. I generally don't mind working with most materials if the model is cool!
@loganshobbylair.bsky.socialI have a lot of HIPS, by far my favorite material as it's more rigid (not bendy/sagging), relatively light weight (less need for structural pinning), easy to cut/sand, and able to stick HIPS sheets and tubes to it. I have a decent amount of 3d prints I made, and a bit of the other materials as well.
