Rest in Power Pierre Damas Bel. We will never forget you.
On Saturday, Pierre Damas Bel was laid to rest. The eulogy was written by his father and delivered that afternoon by a family member. Pierre died by suicide but it was the system wanting to deport him, rip everything away and humiliate him that killed him.
This week, HBA’s Guerline Jozef, was awarded the 2026 Wallenberg Medal by @uofmichigan.bsky.social We are honored + accept this medal on behalf of those who have lost their lives, those who are now suffering and those who will continue to suffer if we don’t do something about it #TPSForHaiti🇭🇹

Justice for Pierre ❤️🩹🕊️
We urge all senators to co-sponsor S.4814 in order to restore TPS for Haiti for another three years. This legislation means no one will have to feel as desperate, hopeless, or fearful about their future. It is about restoring the LEGAL status they have had for over a decade 🇭🇹 #TPSForHaiti
At a time when the United States needs a stable and productive workforce, Congress should not force hundreds of thousands of workers out of the legal economy while Haiti remains unsafe for return.
HBA urges the Senate to act swiftly. Extending TPS is both a humanitarian necessity and an economic imperative: allowing Haitian TPS holders to remain legally employed means they can continue paying taxes, supporting American businesses, caring for families, and contributing to their communities
On Labor Day, we recognize the millions of workers whose labor keeps our communities and economy moving. Haitian TPS holders are part of that workforce. Taking away their ability to work legally does not serve the interests of the United States.
This legislation means no one will have to feel as desperate, hopeless, or fearful about their future. It is about restoring the LEGAL status they have had for over a decade. Please help us in this fight 🇭🇹 We are at 34 co-sponsors — help us push to reach the 60 votes it needs!!
