What do you use for roofing ? I use modeling clay and a brush. Used same technique for 15mm Vietnam and 28mm dark ages.

I would like to say a big thank you for recommending Pro Arte Prolene brushes. Painted nearly 200 28mm figs in the last few months and have just bought my second set if 0 and 1. They are the dogs bollocks. Accurate, consistent bristle point after cleaning and their cheap.
