It happens when the ground is saturated with water and you get a sudden flash freeze. Mom says it’s really loud and quite terrifying. She immediately thinks a meteorite has hit the house. 😬

I don’t think I’ve ever heard it. But Mom has. It’s rare. As are “frost quakes”, which even Mom finds scary as they tend to happen in the night and are very loud. They say we’ll have a very mild winter. Hopefully there won’t be any flash freezes, which can cause frost quakes. 😰

Oh, me too. Late last night Mom was up a couple of times tracking one, but thankfully it didn’t hit us. She had to drug me earlier when one unexpectedly popped up. I can’t wait for winter!

Hello my love! Last night when Dad let me out for a last pee, I came nose to nose with a SKUNK! I didn’t bark, just looked at it. I think we were both puzzled. Dad yelled at me to come inside, and I did. Right away! *proud ears*. The skunk then just walked away THROUGH the fence. 😬
