Do we really need to explain to people that it is really, REALLY important to read to young children? Like, you, personally, need to read to your child - your voice, your face, your hand gestures, your lap, your arms, your closeness. What kind of parent doesn't know this in their bones?

The games and books were all from the 1970's and 1980's, and there were two boxes of crackers that expired in 1990. It was 2004! Also: this school was regularly used by local TV shows & movies as a location. Never as a school, though, always as a prison!

Everyone was freaked out! The CABINET had been painted to the wall, we all assumed it was built in! The door handle was broken off, and the door had been painted over so many times the custodian had to use a chisel to break it open. It was a supply closet FULL of games, books, & school supplies!

When I was a school secretary, a teacher came in one day during beginning of year set up and announced that the classroom she had been moved to was five feet narrower than it should be, and she would not stay there until someone figured out why! We moved a cabinet and found a door painted shut!

One of my favorite cases of someone being Wrong on the Internet was a very earnest, very confused vegan who was telling people how cruel honey is; and it eventually turned out they thought honey was made by putting bees in a centrifuge and spinning them around until they threw up.
