We go again. The Arsenal. Do bloggy things. Do Poddy things. None of them particularly 'edgy'.

@suburbangooner.bsky.socialBit of an early check-in on Forest and how they might play against us on Sunday based on what the early data shows us.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialJob done last night in the second half, plus we were able to rotate and rest a few players, but it wasn't all completely a bed of roses on an evening where a bit of huffing and puffing was needed against Lille.
Some thoughts - www.suburbangooners.com/2026/10/14/t...
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialFeels to me like the number of ‘Gyökeres games’ is becoming more and more acute. These stats hardly scream ‘puck me!’ Do they?
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialBit of huff and puff, didn’t quite work for 2/3 of the game, Lille came for the draw, but the subs had an impact. Bit like the weekend tho, the subs had ‘an’ impact but not ‘the’ impact - imo.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialLike the team - not least because I almost picked it spot on 👀
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialSaid some words for TrackRadio this afternoon. Going live in a couple of minutes if you fancy listening in.
Tricky one against Lille methinks.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialBedford beverage.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialThink it's going to be a tough low-block nut to crack at home to Lille tonight.
Match preview thoughts:
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialSome thoughts on yesterday's whole grubby affair: I maintain the football world needs to come together and keep the pressure up to resolve this situation with City before anyone can really move on.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialI actually think it is incumbent on everyone to maintain what we’ve seen today in terms of the outpouring of rage. Don’t normalise City’s cheating so that in a months time the media storm has died down. This momentum needs to be maintained on Cheaters FC.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialCheating #114 FC getting a ProRef helping hand I see…
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialPrep time Mikel referenced afterwards too - so you’re bang on there
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialWe all knew what we were getting against Leeds yesterday, which is exactly how it panned out. So despite a few iffy performances, the win is the most important thing. And if you're going to get a winner, make it a banger like Bruno's.
Some Sunday thoughts.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialYeah - feel a bit for Eze because this could have been a great opportunity today
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialReckon that’s pretty accurate on performances today. The back line were a little ropey with distribution, Gabriel wasn’t great, front line did ok but not spectacular. Felt like we had 10 minutes around time of our goals where we looked good, but the rest of the time not so much
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialWeird performance - or maybe not - with Madueke. Feels like for every good thing he does, there’s a headless chicken thing.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialThat was made to feel quite hard. We all knew Leeds would be tough. Strong, physical, direct - exactly as it proved to be - but we did make life hard for ourselves. The offsides, the misplaced/overhit passes. Not great day at the office. Not sure lineup worked either. 3pts tho 👍
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialLeeds are a physical, direct, set-piece loving team.
We need to be ready for them today.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialArsenal announced their most important signing yesterday: MIkel Arteta.
Now it is time to build that 'legacy' he has been talking about.
@suburbangooner.bsky.socialMost important signature of the season.
