I cleared five chapters of UNTETHERED yesterday, including one of my favorite chapters of the first half of the book. I'm about a quarter of the way through which is great for my personal timeline

Deirdre watched the seconds hand move around the clock face. Tick, tick, tick. The minute followed every sixty inching ticks. She was vaguely aware of the others coming back, and Amber setting down a can of Cheerwine, but Deirdre couldn't pull her eyes from the passage of time. An hour stretched and pulled like sticky, sweet taffy. Deirdre stretched along with it; an imperfect vessel unspooled and wound around the clock in a perfect spiral. No end. No beginning. Just neverending existence.

Until she blinked, and the minute hand stopped one tick away from midnight.

Hurricane Isaias decided to dump rain on us the day before it was supposed to, so our local renfaire was canceled. Guess I'll stay home and get some more work done on UNTETHERED instead

He stayed exactly where Deirdre had left him, waiting until Deirdre returned with damp hair, before he stretched and humped over to the small bookshelf underneath the window. One of her old sketchbooks fell out of place as he did. She sighed.

“Bit of a chunky boy, aren’t you?” Deirdre crouched down to pick up the book, and felt a light smack on the top of his head.

She glared up at the cat who licked the paw he had smacked her with, and tucked the sketchbook back amongst her other old books, and well-worn copies of Nancy Drew and Richie Tankersley Cusick books she loved as a teenager, and sometimes reread as an adult. As she stood, she noticed a flash of white outside of her window. She froze. Eyes darting around the dark expanse of trees. They waited at the window together, but Deirdre didn’t see anything out there.

“I usually close these,” she said, reaching to close the curtains, but Mr. Pinkus fixed her with another glare. “Or I can leave them open, I guess.”

I've finished three chapters, added some new details, and reworked some passages. I'll be getting as much of chapter four done today as I can since I have a date tomorrow :3 Word Count: 9738/120,000(?) Here's a little snippet

Come.

The command whispered in her ear as if by a lover. Trees swayed into a dance he didn’t know no matter how many times he had witnessed. Her hair whipped around her face in wind that wasn’t truly wind. Strands lashed his cheeks until blood welled from the tiny cuts. Deirdre felt no pain.

The forest quivered; an animal shaking as it caught the scent of prey.

Icy cold touched her skin. Traced the wounds of her face like an old lover. Unseen fingers cradled her chin. Nails dug into her cheeks. Deirdre couldn’t move. Almost didn’t want to move. Part of him wanted to sink into the touch, but a voice that was not his own screamed at him to wake up. To run.

Come, o’Death, and release me from my torment.

You should be asking why Rockstar gets to do this and doesn't run into any issues with payment processors, while the rest of anyone drawing or writing "explicit content" on any platform have so much trouble getting paid
