Today is #HatsOn4CPC! 💚
The World Child Cancer team has proudly put on their hats to support ICPCN's global campaign, raising awareness of children's palliative care and the people who make it possible.
What hat will you wear to close the gap? 🧢
With her family’s encouragement, photography became a creative outlet and a way for Zaakirah to explore who she was beyond cancer. Her story reminds us that supporting a child with cancer means protecting more than their health. “They are a child too. Let them be a child.” - Zaakirah
This #WorldSightDay, we’re sharing Zaakirah’s story of sight, survival and self-expression. 🧡
A photograph helped reveal the white glow that led to her retinoblastoma diagnosis. Years later, photography became a way to understand her story and find her voice.

📚 This #WorldTeachersDay, we’re celebrating the teachers helping children with cancer keep learning through treatment.
Whether teaching in a hospital classroom or sitting beside a child’s bed, their work goes far beyond lessons.
🎂 Help us blow out Caitríona’s birthday candles! We’re aiming to raise £2,500 in honour of our wonderful Patron Caitríona Balfe. Every £100 raised blows out one candle, while supporting children with cancer around the world. 🧡 Donate here:
World Child Cancer has also signed on to ICPCN’s ‘Close the Gap: Palliative Care for Children Everywhere’ campaign, part of a global advocacy effort coordinated through the WHO-convened Palliative Care Working Group. Find out more about Close the Gap:

Last week, we joined the global childhood cancer community at #SIOP2026 in San Antonio. 🌍
Highlights included connecting with the Rylan Strong Network, meeting SIOP President Prof Rob Pieters and hosting our session with Amgen on trusted international collaboration.
Thanks to our collaboration with Amgen, World Child Cancer has been able to introduce Family Support Officers like Prerana into our programme in Nepal.

Before treatment, nine-year-old Kalu loved volleyball and cricket with his school friends in Nepal. During cancer treatment, Family Support Officer Prerana encouraged him to try drawing. As Kalu’s interest in art grew, so did his confidence.
