🚨 YouTube News 🚨 YouTube Music is rolling out labels on the player for songs made primarily with generative AI, and the labels will expand to the main YouTube app (no date yet). YouTube says it relies on music partners plus its own detection tools to identify these tracks.
Attention spans aren't shrinking. People will watch long videos if the content is compelling. Focus on telling great stories and making videos you'd want to watch. Ideal video length is whatever it takes to deliver value. For many, that's 12-15 minutes.
Every achievement counts, whether it's your first subscriber or your 100,000th. Recognize your progress and keep pushing forward. What YouTube milestones have you hit recently?

Try different hooks and formats, but keep the viewer in mind. Someone who loved one Short should have a reason to watch the next
What's harder for you: stopping the swipe or keeping people watching?
If people stay at first but leave halfway through, look at your retention graph Where does it dip? Is there a slow explanation, an unnecessary pause, or a payoff that takes too long? Use that moment to guide your next edit, not just the final view count
In the Shorts feed, people don't have to click your video. It starts playing, and they decide whether to stay Check "Stayed to watch" in Studio. If people keep swiping, try a clearer opening that gives them a reason to watch. Skip the long setup
Your Short got a burst of views, then stopped. Before you change anything, check what viewers did Did they swipe away? Or start watching and leave before the good part? Those are different problems. Here's what to look at 👇️
The average lifespan of a YouTuber is 3-5 years. How long do you see yourself making videos?
As you end your video, you should verbally lead your viewer to the next video you want them to watch! Don't just throw it up on an endscreen! Verbally direct them to it!
The takeaway isn't to ditch AI. Let it help clean up pauses and mistakes, then spend your time on what makes the video better to watch
Which part of editing would you happily hand over?
Our host edit took the longest. It was also the one we published Working on it changed his question from “How quickly can I finish this?” to “Would someone actually enjoy watching this?” Getting the cuts done wasn't the same as making the video worth watching
The Fiverr edit took 2 days and needed revisions AI turned 10 minutes of footage into a 5-minute video in about 24 minutes, cutting mistakes and adding text Our host Tech thought they were close, but gave Fiverr a slight edge for finding extra B-roll
Can AI save you from editing your own videos? We gave the same footage to AI, a $60 Fiverr editor, and ourselves Here's the takeaway 👇️

Creating is 100x harder than criticizing. I've seen countless creators spend 2 month on videos that get torn down in 2 minutes. Anyone can be a critic. But builders? They're rare. And that's exactly why they win.
C'mon... Tell me... How many views did you get this week?
