This photo of an autumnal-coloured bug is amazing! 🧡

Rhopalidae stictopleurus, also referred to as scentless plant bugs, are hard to identify without close inspection. Currently, there are over 240 species of rhopalids. 🔍

Oh, to be a sleeping dormouse! 💤

If food is scarce outside of hibernation season, they can save energy by dropping their body temperature & going into a state of 'torpor'. Dormice can spend three-quarters of the year 'asleep'

A white magpie was spotted by Anna Wright, our Wilder Communities Manager, in her local park 🤯

Having only seen black & white magpies, she found out that this magpie has a condition called Leucism that reduces the melanin pigment in its' feathers.) 🪶

This carpet of colour on marshes, heaths, and moors are sphagnum mosses. 🌱

There are over 30 species in the UK, from red and pink, to orange and green, species range in colour but all play a vital role in the creation of peat bogs.
