Is meaningful progress on waiting lists happening?

Our new analysis projects that if recent referral and removal trends continue and there are no future changes in policy, 92% of waits will be within 34.9 weeks by July 2029, almost twice the 18-week standard.

The Welsh Government has commissioned the Health Foundation to carry out an independent review of NHS performance in Wales.

The review will assess health system performance, impact of waiting times, and priorities for improvement, with findings due spring 2027.
