Day 6 of #ChallengePoverty Week. People in #Scotland believe in equality. Anyone can experience poor health, but poverty and poor #MentalHealth are closely intertwined.
Together we can invest in a Scotland that provides real support to people with mental health problems.

We will continue to press the hopeful, inclusive calls for change that were at the heart of Scotland Demands Better. If you were part of that movement, thank you... And if you are not a member, now is the time to join us. We need your effort, evidence and commitment to secure the changes that will reduce poverty for good.

Day 4 of #ChallengePoverty Week. Together we can improve children's lives, ensuring that they can enjoy their rights and live in dignity. That means children and young people should have a meaningful say in how Scotland tackles poverty.

Day 4 of #ChallengePoverty Week - and we're focused on the injustice of child poverty. Together we can improve children's lives, ensuring that they can enjoy their rights and live in dignity. That means children and young people should have a meaningful say in how Scotland tackles poverty, and shape the policies and services they use.

When we strengthen social security, we strengthen the foundation that people have to build a better life for themselves and their households. And that means a better country for all of us. It's a vital tool that we can use to #ChallengePoverty.

The #MinimumIncomeGuarantee has to be part of the agenda if we are serious about building a just and compassionate Scotland where everyone has a secure foundation to build a better future. Here's our Chloe Campbell giving evidence at the Scottish Parliament today. www.povertyalliance.org/mig/

Do we need to review the way we measure #child #poverty in Scotland? Today around 40 people representing Poverty Alliance members came to a special seminar. Many said now is the time for the Scottish Gov to double down on effective action to meet its poverty pledges to Scotland's children.

Our Taking Action on #Rural #Poverty project is coming to an end - so we commissioned an external evaluation. We were delighted about people's views on what was achieved. #TARP

In a just Scotland, no-one would lose their life to drug addiction. People living in the most deprived communities in Scotland are around 15 times more likely to experience problem drug use, compared to people in the least deprived communities. Reducing drug deaths means reducing poverty.

1,133 people suffered drug-related deaths in Scotland in 2025.
That’s simply wrong - and it’s closely connected to the injustice of poverty.
