Arrived today! 🥳
At one point a barely disguised SX-42 appears briefly in a close up, as well. Anybody have contact info for Chuck Dachis? The contact email on his web site is no good.
Unusual #Hallicrafters(?) radio mod in a 1947 noir movie "The Unsuspected". The front panel looks like the left-to-center of an SX-46 that somebody took a hatchet to.

Holy cow! I guess I ought to be grateful it hasn't left the country. It just got scanned two hours ago in San Bernardino, so that's a plus.
Since going backwards to San Jose, all updates have been "In Transit to Next Facility" which I always take to mean they've no idea where it actually is.
This eBay purchase apparently went from San Jose to San Bernardino and back again. In the neighborhood of 800 miles for no reason. Still waiting for it.
I've been seeing crap like this from the #USPS for a while now, seems like it's more and more common.
It has fantastic networking features but sounds like absolute shite. People tell me "you get used to it". I can't help but feel like I might hear the same quote from a male or female prostitute, but it's hardly an enticement to take up that activity.
Thanks for putting that out there. The good news is it's not terribly difficult to get licensed these days and all you need to use the those radios is the easiest "Technician" class license. A couple of resources:

Same lunkhead asks me if I've notices my electric bill has been going up year after year.
it seems like every single retired ham radio operator is spending all goddamn day prompting GenAI disappointing
Not me! 🙂
Waiter! Check please.
I guess if you can look out the window and see Joshua trees, you're in Joshua Tree.
This is good news, but the jerk in me wants to point out that neither Morongo grade nor Yucca grade on 62 (where the article seems to imply the crossings will be built) are in Joshua Tree Park nor town. That's kind of the norm though when it comes to press about this area so no big deal I guess 🤷♂️
I've been watching #USPS tracking on an order from www.allscan.info
It went from San Diego to Moreno Valley to San Bernardino BACK TO SAN DIEGO back to San Bernardino to Morongo Valley and finally Yucca Valley out for delivery.

If you don't mind me asking, how is this connected to Yucca Valley?
Sometimes you get the call sign you deserve. 😅 "Oh you! ...YOU!!!"
