Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. Today, we had the honour to hear from residential school survivors, and the survivors living with intergenerational trauma after. We also watched beautiful performances and heard a reminder to keep Indigenous languages and art forms alive.

Food Insecurity is increasingly impacting working Calgarians.

In a recent survey, the Calgary Food Bank found that 65% of its clients were from households with earned employment income, with an average of $19.30/hour.

When workers cannot afford transportation, they lose access to employment, education and services.

Over half of Low Income Transit Pass users are employed and demand has risen. More workers can not afford full fares, which have risen by 11% since 2023.

In 2025, 32% of Calgarians reported some degree of food insecurity. The Calgary Food Bank reported that 37% of its users were employed, with some working multiple jobs.
