Merry Christmas everyone
About halfway through the Flanagan Carrie show, thinking about the ability to shift heretofore straightforwardly evil characters into complex humans and updating the evils of high school for a modern time. Some things change, some things stay the same.
The exsqueeze me hmm. I will be bringing my tissues to the front row
I will say if carbonation doesn’t bother you they have bigger sized carbonated versions of some for some reason. Kinda weird me out but untouchable in emergencies
Me and my 7 am Orange pineapple against the world OR 11 am crash. Very little to no in between
DO IT FOR ME I WILL READ IT EVERY DAY
I drink one of these every morning which is how I know you are so strong for going without. I would cry.
Sam is KILLING TIME until Halloween. Watch a brand new animated Sam short!
Best friend recommended me this something like two years ago and I’ve thought about it every day since.

32: Littermates for #FantasticFest2026
Dark comedic post apocalyptic found family trauma bonding, anyone?
Catching up the thread so it’s still fun to update later!
31: Kyle Mangione’s Smith’s Compliance for #FantasticFest2026
Surveillance state analysis by way of found footage horror. What a time to be alive!
Really enjoying the symmetry of your physical being and the little guy on your shirt. In my head you’re both yelling “books!”
Small part of me is always thinking about how much more money D&W would have made if they let Slash be audible in the movie instead of being talked over. I know people who would have gone multiple times just to hear it.
The Squirrel is the Finnish Oscar contender for the coming award season, & it’s clear to see why. It may not land for everyone, but for me it’s an affecting reminder of how desperately we need human connection with nature/other people in order to thrive in a world bent on automation.
#FantasticFest
I don’t really know what there is to say about Sick, except that it is aptly titled and for the freaks. Almost made me lose my lunch all over my computer, and still I came away having had a great time. There’s something going on under the surface that’s slippery to pin down.
#FantasticFest
Littermates was a surprisingly successful dark comedy of post-apocalyptic survival that explores identity, trauma, and power dynamics in sometimes poignant, often hilarious ways. Far and away the most startlingly funny needle drop of the festival, as well.
#FantasticFest
Compliance was an effective found footage PR nightmare for our times. Kyle Mangione-Smith proves himself as one to watch with this tightrope of tension between helping victims and exposing corruption.
#FantasticFest
All my #FantasticFest reviews for @professorhorror.bsky.social are officially out. I wish I had gotten to more, but I’m happy with what I got. There was humanity in all its strains: love (the Squirrel); depravity (Sick); found family (Littermates); and surveillance (Compliance). Check em out!
