A 24.5% (!!!!!) pay increase because unionized nurses stuck together for a strong union contract

“I would like to see all healthcare workers in the union, because the union difference is huge, and this story alone proves how much difference the union makes. Because I can tell you, they would not have given us an 18% increase on that [otherwise],” said Catherine Baran, RN.

During the pandemic, WA State called nurses and APRNs heroes — but now they are treating us like zeros. We are calling on the state to settle a strong contract that values state nurses & the critical work we do for Washingtonians. We won't stop fighting until we secure the contract we deserve.
