Climate change policy missing in action
https://newsroom.co.nz/2026/10/12/climate-change-policy-missing-in-action/

From Victoria University - Comment: The lesson from climate change in this election may be that some decisions are simply too complex and too consequential to leave to electoral […]

LLMs are killing human learning. We may have just seen the last generation of young *any intellectual pursuit* start their careers for some time. Till the bubble bursts - either under the weight of its own financial stupidity - or till the LLMs disappear up their own fundaments because there's […]

Have you lost a shoe? I recommend hiring Bill from Shoe Rescue.

This is my drawing for Day 11 of the Ink-Birdtober challenge. Today's prompts are the Shoebill from Africa, and "Rescue".

I was reminded that the scientific name of shoebills is B. rex […]

My drawing, somewhat cartoonish, of a large billed bird in a safety vest holding a shoe in its bill. He's got a name badge saying "Bill" and the text above says "Meet Bill from Shoe Rescue". In the background in a logo with two shoes and a cross and the words "No Shoe Left Behind".

Banger policy after banger policy.

At this point you can't say that you vote for the best policy on offer and not vote green. 💚✅✅

@joncounts It would be so easy to mistake that mistletoe for a griselina, or a coprosma, if you didn't look very hard.

Not to mention the most obvious benefit: food kids would actually eat, and was good for them. You get what you pay for when all you care about is the lowest bid.

Ask yourself why the oligarchs are so invested in keeping this incompetent coalition in power.

And then make sure you're registered, vote and help us make sure all that money they donated is flushed down […]

Last year’s #greenhouse in this year’s greenhouse. #garden #gardening #DIY

A tiny prefab multi-storey greenhouse with a ground area of about a quarter square metre in a much larger and taller 2.3 square metre greenhouse which doesn't yet have walls. The little greenhouse is stacked up with three storeys of seed-raising planters.
