Congratulations to our CEO, Prof Marco Herold, on being elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.
A recognition of Prof Herold's scientific leadership and significant contributions to the field of cancer research.
🛫 Dr Shiyao Li and Dr Dilshan Gunasinghe receive the ONJCRI Postdoc Domestic Travel Award, a key initiative led by our Postdoc Committee enabling our postdoctoral researchers to attend key Australian conferences and meetings.
ONJCRI, WEHI and Genentech researchers used a new CRISPR guide RNA library (Partita) and discovered that:
➡️ Switching on the Irx5 gene allowed cancer cells to survive venetoclax
️➡️ Runx2, Runx3, and Csf1r genes accelerate MYC-driven lymphoma
The first Australian participant has been enrolled in the global VIGOR trial, sponsored by ONJCRI in collaboration with COGNO in Australia.
The trial will investigate vorasidenib maintenance treatment in people with IDH-mutant grade 2/3 astrocytoma.
Thanks to our generous partner, Love Your Sister, every donation made to our Medical Research Giving Day campaign today will be doubled.
