Surely 'doing politics differently' should mean empowering ordinary people rather than leaving everything up to politicians?

Hundreds of passionate Tasmanians attended the public meeting to protest against funding and staff cuts to TMAG. Quite a few Green and independent pollies there, but none from Labor. They care about dog racing and a footy stadium but not our precious arts, culture and heritage. Shame! #politas

Hanson said “We have reached a pretty sad place when someone's political beliefs determine whether their presence or their custom is considered acceptable.” The same mob says the presence of the ABC and Guardian at media conferences is unacceptable. #politas #auspol

Whenever I read about Oliver Curtis’s Firmus Technologies, I’m reminded of Sanjeev Gupta’s GFG Alliance. #politas #auspol #DataCentres

August was the hottest month in global history and yet, NSW has just approved the biggest coal mine expansion ever proposed in the state. It is scandalous that Australia is leading negotiations at global climate talks, including in the Pacific next week.

I support the current arrangement where the federal leader of the Greens is chosen by the party room. The primary job of the leader is to collaboratively lead Greens parliamentary reps. Those reps need to have confidence in the leader and are best placed to choose the best leader. #auspol

If you think the cuts to TMAG’s already over stretched staff are wrong, you can sign this petition to Parliament. #politas

The annual cost of servicing the stadium debt will see the Tasmanian Government withdrawing about $100M pa of expenditure into the Tasmanian economy. That will shrink the state’s economy.

Note to #politas. The stadium and Launceston convention centre are not productivity enhancing investments and will not improve Tasmanian’s standard of living. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09...

The global rise in bond yields affects the Tasmanian Government. It pushes up the annual cost of servicing the massive stadium debt. It means even more cuts to public sector jobs and services. #politas

Our industrial pollution law (The Safeguard Mechanism) is being reviewed!

A submission takes minutes but can make a world of difference.

Tell the government by midnight Friday 18 September:
Cap the offsets, and keep them out of reach for coal, oil and gas.

We fact-checked "coal is the backbone of our economy" 🧐 Turns out that backbone ain't all it's cracked up to be.

The Co-ordinator General breaches State Service principles and the Rockliff government stands by him. TMAG staff do their jobs professionally and the Rockliff government says 30% of them must go. #politas
