Look out early
See the twilight
Before the day's
hurley
Look out early
Seen very clearly
Watch mist wraithlike
benight
Look out early
See the twilight

With wraith-like tread, upon our prey we steal
No sound at all, we never speak a word
In silence dread, our cautious way we feel
With wraith-like tread, upon our prey we steal
Let's vary piracy with a little burglar zeal
A fly's foot-fall would be distinctly heard

changing leaves softly fall
skittering across the lawn
brightly colored one and all
changing leaves softly fall
on the wind hear autumn’s call
behind the tree hide doe and fawn
changing leaves softly fall
skittering across the lawn

ethereal, wraithlike, small
a ghostly form of you
the bluest eyes after all
ethereal, wraithlike, small
when cancer came to call
your true self still shown through
ethereal, wraithlike, small
a ghostly form of you

#TrioletJam #skittering

I hear skittering in my house overhead
I really hope it’s not mice
I took a peek under the bed
I hear skittering in my house overhead
I looked around, filled with dread
If it’s nothing, that would be nice
I hear skittering in my house overhead
I really hope it’s not of mice

Hey all, here is today’s prompt

A wraithlike wisp of smoke
Rises up from my campfire
I throw on a big chunk of oak
A wraithlike wisp of smoke
I give it a gentle poke
I love sitting by the fire
A wraithlike wisp of smoke
Rises up from my campfire
