I sure wish Soundpaint would support Linux!

Hey #LinuxAudio peeps, I am sending OSC data to my DAW to control a synth. There's a big latency between the OSC message and the sound in #reaper, but *not* in #ardour. Anyone got an idea why?

Details: I'm not actually sending OSC data directly to the DAW, but to a #plugdata patch (plugdata is […]

What I've been trying to do this weekend: receiving OSC data in #plugdata running as a DAW plugin.

How things have been going:
* Experienced unacceptable latency on #reaper, couldn't figure out why
* Switched to #ardour, where latency is OK
* Ardour crashes when I reopen my Plugdata patch
* […]

I have some really cool news about a legendary plugin that is back, and this time is available for Linux too!

Those who have been doing this for the last 20 years probably have heard of SQ8L.

IT'S BACK!!

I seem to have found an anomaly in the new Mastodon update. I use the advanced mode (deck) in a browser. I watched, and then clicked "Newer posts", but received no new updates over the last 3 hours. I refereshed my window, and now I have a bunch of new messages. It seems to be a problem with […]

@mathias I love Tina Guo!! She's amazing!!

OK. I've played around with the new GUI, and I've been able to find everything, so I don't have a problem with it anymore. All seems good! 😎 👍

OK, I'm starting to get the hang of this new interface. I wish I could permanently pin the Explore option to the third column. Aside from that, it's pretty clear and usable. :)

I use Mastondon's web page "deck" view. Today I logged in, and everything has changed. I'm not sure if I like these new changes or not. I guess time will tell.

What's your secret weapon effects for when you need lots & lots of effects on a project? I'm talking low resource usage, yet sounds really good. Mine is the AirWindows effects suite. Sure I don't use or like everything, but out of the nearly 500 effects, I can easily use 40-50 plugins that are […]

TAL-Software creates a lot of different analog modeled synths. I read something new that I hadn't considered before. Supposedly TAL-Mod is made with code from TAL's analog modeled Jupiter 8 plugin. So, in essence, TAL-Mod could be thought of as a Jupiter-esque semi-modular synth plugin. That […]

What is your secret weapon low resource synth plugin for when you need a lot of synth tracks and your Zebra 3 and Serum 2 plugins are too resource intensive for using across multiple tracks? For me, it is Hive 2. It is an incredibly capable synth that not only sounds great, but is also very […]

I love when web sites say "hey, you're coming here from the EU. We therefore can't provide you with our content, as the EU operates under GDPR legislation." What they're actually saying is "we will track our users and be so privacy infringing that it is only legal to do so in the US". I […]

What are the top things you hate about Bitwig?

I'm looking into Bitwig as a possible DAW replacement for my currently used Reaper DAW.

@tux0r Yeah, Diva and Repro were pretty much the first two big U-he purchases that I paid for (although I also have Zebra 3 as well as most of their stuff). The analog sound is pretty much essential to me, and Serum is as clean as digital gets--although it can do a fairly good job a t mimicking […]
