@simaacan.bsky.socialA pleasure to join the International Cheese Council of Canada’s reception in Ottawa this week and connect with cheese importers and industry partners. Thank you for the warm welcome and conversation!
@simaacan.bsky.socialAdvance requests would not mean automatic access to MAID. Strict eligibility requirements and strong safeguards would remain essential, alongside access to meaningful treatment and care.
@simaacan.bsky.socialThe intention now is to allow advance requests for adults diagnosed with an incurable illness that is expected to take away their decision-making capacity.
@simaacan.bsky.socialOur government intends to introduce legislation this fall to end the planned expansion of medical assistance in dying (MAID) where mental illness is the sole underlying condition.
@simaacan.bsky.socialCanadians deserve compassionate care, dignity, and support when facing serious illness.
@simaacan.bsky.socialHonouring their legacy means continuing the work: ensuring every woman and girl has the opportunity to lead, succeed, and live safely.
@simaacan.bsky.socialWomen have shaped Canada’s history, and continue to shape its future. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women who broke barriers, fought for equality, and opened doors for generations to come, including those making a difference here in Oakville West.
@simaacan.bsky.socialGreat to visit Polar Performance Materials in Oakville last week to tour their facility and discuss their work in high-purity alumina and plans to grow in Canada. Thank you to the team for welcoming us and showcasing Canadian innovation in action!
@simaacan.bsky.socialToday, we celebrate you and the brighter future you help shape every day.

@simaacan.bsky.socialThank you to the Global Khidmah Forum, community partners and volunteers for bringing us together. Opportunities to learn from one another and celebrate our heritage help build a stronger, more inclusive Oakville.
@simaacan.bsky.socialA wonderful celebration of Islamic Heritage Month here in Oakville! It was a pleasure to join neighbours in celebrating the rich history, culture and traditions of Muslim communities and share greetings from Prime Minister Mark Carney.
