@stetchat.comReposted by @aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialIt's #BannedBooksWeek!
A handful of people shouldn't be allowed to dictate what the rest of us can read! Organized groups have used fear and disinformation to silence stories & remove books from libraries, schools, & bookstores. Why can’t they just let books be? bannedbooksweek.org/let-freedom-...
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialHello Bonjour! I am Aalap, in Edmonton (Canada). My two colleagues are Luna Lovegood (cat, named before the whole TERF thing, btw!) and Forest (my hound).
@ualbertapress.bsky.socialReposted by @aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialToronto friends: Mehdi Kashani's book launch is Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 pm at TYPE Books on Dundas. All are welcome to join the celebration!

@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialI like how you describe that!
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialI sometimes read and absorb things, which is great. Other times, I edit without reading 😂 it’s tricky for sure. Very different editing to fiction or non-fiction book ms.
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialI soo needed this! Got through 16 pages. The momentum will take me through the rest of it today. Thank you #StetSprint!
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialHi Rachel! Yes, I edit textbooks for the skilled trades here in Alberta. That’s my day job. I also work on other stuff as part of my editorial business!
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialSorry! Forgot to mention: 45 pages to go. Let’s see. #StetSprint
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialYes! Finally I can join during business hours! Aiming to make as big of a dent in this Parts Technician module as possible! #StetSprint
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialImagine being in a team of five, each speaking a different English!
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialIt has been such a privilege to work with these minds. The brainstorming and planing itself has taught me so much. I am confident that the conference will prove to be of great value for all attendees.

Fancy a visit to Toronto this November?
@aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialOoh yes, I agree with @ebrenner.bsky.social. Three screens is a game changer, especially if you can rotate one to portrait. 🤓
@lsaffs.bsky.socialReposted by @aalaptrivedi.bsky.socialI wish people outside of Canada would stop trying to tell us we are actually "American." We never ever ever call ourselves American. Please respect how we refer to ourselves.
