Some moments last only seconds. Others stay with us for years.
That's one of the things I love about haiku. A handful of words can preserve something that might otherwise have disappeared from memory.

Haiku isn't just about cherry blossoms, frogs, and moonlight.
My collection Warmth of Stone also explores memory, relationships, loss, humour, and the peculiarities of being human.

Haiku doesn't need elaborate vocabulary to say something worthwhile.
A frog. An empty swing. Two cups of tea. A footprint in the snow.
Ordinary things can carry memory, humour, loss and love—if we stop long enough to notice them.

Sometimes what a haiku leaves unsaid is as important as what it puts on the page.
81 haiku and senryū. Four seasons.
I arranged Warmth of Stone around the cycle of the year — spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
But the seasons aren't just scenery. The poems also explore memory, relationships, humour, ageing, loss, and the small moments we often miss.

Why Warmth of Stone?
The title comes from the final haiku in the collection, inspired by a stone warmed by winter sunlight.
But it also captures something at the heart of the book: the small, unexpected things we discover when we pay attention.
