Vintage SF with a timeless message about LLMs. Spooky season indeed.
My YESSSSS was audible.
Three books for the price of one. and the review, as ever, is free.
First review of the month is up. Not Campbell's best, but still a fun read.
Obviously, we are all busy and excited about Fantasycon 2026 next week, but to help keep the excitement going (and to assist those who can't make it this year). The website for next year's event is now live:

Some reading plans for the coming month
Ending a month of tie-in fiction with a Warhammer book that I have mixed feelings on, but which was ultimately worth persevering with.
Calvin James' Affairs of State and Mahmud El Sayed's Republic of Memory have been two of my favourites this year, plus the obligatory Adrian Tchaikovsky (Children of Strife) Charlotte Robinson's Mars One is also worth a look.
Ending my Star Trek month with some great space adventuring
Looking to get into Warhammer 40,000? This is the book for you.
One day I will run out of Star Trek books to read Today, that day grew a little bit closer.
Glad the Forever Dead is finally on its way. It's been a really fun ride so far.
Take a look, it's another book.
My battle with the flu is coming to an end, which means it's time for some reviews. Here's the first:
Fury is brilliant. Not read those specific ones, but Tepper and White are solid too
Something different on the blog today, as I take a stroll through all the science fiction award shortlists of 2026
Today on the blog, a lackluster slice of cyberpunk
Chris Beebee 'The Hub' from 1987. Hardly key, but slots into the British cyberpunk dystopia section.
Another day, another review. This one for a fascinating hybrid of Golden Age and New Wave.
