The genocidal violence directed against the Ukrainian people is inseparable from a campaign of epistemicide: the systematic destruction, silencing, and devaluation of a people’s knowledge systems and ways of knowing. With RUTA, we call on academia to respond decisively to Russia’s continued attacks
Join us for this launch! Glad to have been part of the forum and our ongoing dialogues on decoloniality in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. We’re fortunate to have Madina Tlostanova and Yuliya Yurchuk reading our work. And the discussion will be even better thanks to Assel Tutumlu, who will moderate

This bibliography of Central and Eastern European and diasporic feminisms, created by researchers in the UK diaspora, is still being passed around. It “only” covers a few recent years, and so much new CEE scholarship on gender, power, and justice has already come out since. We need a whole archive!
I highly recommend scrolling through the Archive of Public Protest. It’s an incredible documentation initiative that will certainly play a vital role in research, art curation and archival work. The photographs are accessible to researchers, artists and activists
The APP page is a treasure trove of photo evidence of the last 10 years of protest in Poland: from free Ukraine, Belarus, and Palestine solidarities, across migrant and asylum rights, abortion rights, and queer liberation to environmental protection movements
As you could tell by the focus, the event did justice to the multigenerational resistance against the USSR and Soviet imperialist violence against Poland and Ukraine
Just attended an interesting and much-needed event problematising the persistent invisibility of East European women—mainly Polish and Ukrainian—in the (armed) resistance, including against Nazi Germany. We also discussed the incredible contemporary and freely accessible‼️Archive of Public Protest
Glad to have been part of the forum and our ongoing transregional dialogues on decoloniality in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. We’re fortunate to have Madina Tlostanova and Yuliya Yurchuk reading our work—looking forward to hearing their thoughts!

On the looting of hospitals in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories
“Clinics and hospitals in affected areas lack staff, power and medicines, with supplies redirected to the Russian military … ambulances had stopped coming to people’s homes”

Thank you! It’s been a long and insightful journey. I certainty learned a lot by editing a book with authors writing from across six continents ☺️
Join us for our next RUTA webinar: the discussion will bring together the collective of authors and editors of a crucial transregional forum of much-needed decolonial dialogues, with Madina Tlostanova and Yuliya Yurchuk as discussants and Assel Tutumlu moderating. This is a not-to-be-missed event
Just finished the last round of proofs—this book will be published open access this autumn. Can’t wait to see it in print!
