Our Man of the West and Lord of the Mark are live with their roundtable alongside fellow Tolkien creators KnewBetta, Athrabeth, and Queer Lodgings! As a reminder, Alan will transition straight from this into PPP Plays for the second hour!

Hobbit Day seems like a good excuse to revisit Season 2 of the PPP. And if you joined us later in the journey and have never listened through our coverage of The Hobbit, today is a great day to do so!

For The Prancing Pony Podcast, that also means looking back to Season 2, when Alan and Shawn followed Bilbo out his front door and spent an entire season walking through The Hobbit.

Happy Hobbit Day! September 22 marks the shared birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, two particularly important Hobbits, and we can think of few better reasons to return to the Shire.

Well, we're back. Dive into Beren and Lúthien with us in this first episode of Season 11 of The Prancing Pony Podcast! Listen on your favorite podcast platform.

Katie here! Just a reminder that we don't have PPP Plays today! But we'll be back on Hobbit Day (Tuesday, Sept 22 at 9p EDT). And speaking of Hobbit Day, my favorite way to celebrate is back... Season 11 of The Prancing Pony Podcast drops tomorrow! Tune in on your favorite podcast platform.

A view from Powell's Books, the largest independent bookstore in the world, occupying over 68,000 sq feet. DOOMED TO DIE: An A-Z of Death in Middle-earth by Tom Racine is a comical trip through every glorious way to meet your end in Tolkien's world. Equal parts dark humor and gorgeous, illustration!

To celebrate, tell us: What is your favorite story, character, passage, piece of art, or PPP Season 1 moment? What are you most looking forward to Alan revisiting when we eventually return to The Silmarillion? And what does The Silmarillion mean to you?

Happy 49th Birthday to The Silmarillion, first published on September 15, 1977! The Silmarillion has a special place in the history of The Prancing Pony Podcast; Season 1 of the PPP began with this book, and for many listeners, it was also the beginning of their journey with the podcast.
