It’s our favorite concert venue since we moved “South”. Much better than the former SU campus auditorium where I saw Stephen Stills in the mid-70s!
The first rock vinyl LP that I bought in 1971(?) was a Black Sabbath album I’m pretty sure it’s still downstairs in the vault! 🎸
Sandi and I had a fun date night last evening. First, a light dinner at Red Robin; then we attended the Graham Nash concert at the Luhrs Performing Arts Center. Graham still sounds great for 84 years old and his fellow musicians (Zack, Adam & Todd) were very talented too! It was the last tour stop.🎸
I thought I had added the brief 8-second spinning vinyl clip to my post; but alas it did not appear. So here goes… 🌞
No vintage vinyl picks this past weekend… Sandi & I were too busy listening to the new Rodrigo y Gabriella album “Our Home” that we received during the week. It’s a special limited edition custom Red, Clear & Blue Chaotic Splatter vinyl color LP. We have a number of their albums on vinyl and CDs. 🎸🎸
I have a wallpaper from the pre-web Usenet newsgroups with that building on it! 😱
To fill in the weekend listening space, we also played the 2002 remastered CD version of the Rolling Stones “Her Satanic Majesties Request” (c1967). FYI: The original LP had a lenticular cover… It was their psychedelic rock contribution! ☮️
Running late ~ here’s the Vinyl Selections for the weekend of September 19-20, 2026: The Beatles “Yellow Submarine” (1968); The Jimi Hendrix Experience “Axis Bold As Love” (1967); Spirit “Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus” (1970); and Yes “The Yes Album” (1971) It was a hippie flashback to the 60s!
Just like some of the new hair colors that them young whippersnappers are wearing these days! 😱
This weekend’s vinyl selections from the basement vault for September 12-13: Commodores “In The Pocket” (1981 A&M) L-T-D “Shine On” (1980 A&M Records) Herb Alpert “Beyond” (1980 A&M) Stevie Wonder”Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants” (2-LPs 1979 Motown) Ironically 3 albums from A&M Records! 🎼
I discovered 3-4 immature Painted Bolete mushrooms under our Eastern Red Cedar trees yesterday while pruning them. More info: Young emerging bolete mushrooms (Boletaceae family) typically display a rounded, egg-like shape with reddish-orange tones before the cap fully expands and flattens out. 🍄🟫
Last weekend Sandi and I had an enjoyable date evening. After a light dinner at Duke’s along the Susquehanna River, we attended an intimate 120-seat concert at The Manor On Front in uptown Harrisburg. The featured artist was Martin Taylor, a versatile jazz guitarist from the UK. He was excellent!🎸
Thanks for the humorous post! I also like this one that I found in the alt.binaries.humor Usenet newsgroups this morning. 😎
We still have the vinyl LP! One of my favorite Stones albums, albeit Beggars Banquet is tops.
Sandi & I are taking a break from the vinyl collection this weekend to listen to a pair of 3-CD box sets that we bought over 20 years ago. #1: Various Artists “This is Smooth Jazz ~ The Box Set” (2001 Instinct Records) #2: Janis Joplin “The Collection” featuring 3 original album classics (2004). 🎼
