Senior Worldbuilding Designer, Magic: the Gathering. Narrative Lead for Reality Fracture. This is my #wotcstaff account.
@merismullaley.bsky.socialUnlike Strixhaven where every student expresses their individual magical growth; the Hexhaven schools have a singular focus to their education. This is reflected in each school having only one prepared spell at common & uncommon. #wotcstaff
@merismullaley.bsky.socialMy first "Drive to Work" appearance! So many more thoughts and stories than we had time for.
@merismullaley.bsky.socialFor the #wotcstaff Reality Fracture prerelease I showed up dressed as casual Emrakul.
Happy #mtgfracture Prerelease to those who celebrate!
@merismullaley.bsky.socialI loved the moments between Vraska and Liliana after Jace's death. The recognition of shared grief. The solidarity between two women who generally despised each other. Its rare to get women supporting each other in media and I'm sad I couldn't fit it on a card. Thank you for capturing it. #wotcstaff
@merismullaley.bsky.socialAs promised: updated with today's Reality Fracture commander reveals.
Nissa, Avacyn, Queen Ginger, and Emperor Tamiyo among others.

@vorthosjay.bsky.socialReposted by @merismullaley.bsky.socialFor Clarity: The Theorist left Loot in the Fomori Vault in the Echoverse, in stasis. Loot *woke up* in there with the knowledge that something was horribly wrong with the Multiverse, and he's stuck. The Theorist did not wake him up and then lock him up. It's another unintended consequence.
@merismullaley.bsky.socialWe have a part-husky and we had three different sheds this summer. I'm waiting for the pre-winter shed to start.
@merismullaley.bsky.socialDesparked planeswalkers lost their spark following the events of March of the Machine.
We use the watermark the first time the character appears after that event. Reality Fracture ended up with a higher-than average density of them because of our legend pairs.
@merismullaley.bsky.socialThey are meant to be Jace's eye. That piercing blue.
Like many things in the Echoverse, it is an illusion made physical.
It blinks, looks around, and probably reacts if you poke it. But Jace's eyes are still on his face, and he's not harvesting eyes from strangers.

@merismullaley.bsky.socialIf the question is about the eye badge, it is ONE MORE form of surveillance magic deployed by Jace. His eye is everywhere on campus.
@merismullaley.bsky.socialLegends of Reality Fracture article has been updated based on yesterday's previews! There are still more to come next week.
I loved working on Reality Fracture for many reasons. The Echoed Pairs holds a special place in my heart.
