About twice a week, I think of the series finale of The Americans and how truly perfect it was.
As policymakers set school budgets this fall, it’s important that they watch out for overlooked rules that quietly undermine equity and affect the resources students receive.
📋 Here, our school finance expert @zahavastadler.bsky.social offers a practical checklist for examining #K12 funding policy.
Men find yet another way to film and harass women without consent, this time, using a remote controlled robot to push against a "16-year-old girl's buttocks", and this is how the most well-resourced news agencies cover it:

I wish I believed that this Supreme Court would strike down the AL school prayer law if it got there, but I just don't. People will point to Bremerton, but I think the real turning point was Greece v Galloway in 2014. If we literally allow government prayer... www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...
I freaking love knits-and-boots season.
Today is a great day to follow all the amazing people who report for States Newsroom
Thanks @marklieberman.bsky.social for highlighting--I am quite worried that even if districts plan to have the new scholarship essentially cancel out the fee, it will create confusion and barriers for families who may think they can no longer afford to participate. www.edweek.org/leadership/t...
Pete Hegseth is treating death and cruelty as entertainment. The news of a livestreamed execution for the Fort Hood murderer is beneath our military. I have no sympathy for Nidal Hasan, he massacred 13 innocent people in '09, but justice is solemn, it shouldn't be a spectacle. Link below ⬇️

In addition to legislative change (which is harder), they could hold incessant hearings about abusive and inhumane practices...
I keep telling people: It is not easy to make Canadians mad. They are very, very mad.
Latino history is American history. For centuries, Latino communities have helped shape this country, and today, the more than 60 million Latinos continue to "help fuel our economy and enrich our nation as entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, entertainers, scientists, public servants, and much more.”

Apparently my representative, @replamonica.bsky.social, is about to become the 16th woman ever to give birth while serving in Congress, which I think is pretty cool. Great to have lawmakers with direct experience of pregnancy, parental leave, and managing early parenting with a high-impact job.
