Fun fact: NAPAWF’s astrological sign is Virgo! What does that mean? We’re hard workers, helpers, and we hold ourselves to high standards when it comes to what we do. We’ll see you tomorrow at our 30th Anniversary Celebration! Get ready to celebrate!

Where and When: Omni Hotel at the California Plaza, Los Angeles, on Saturday October 3rd. At 6pm is cocktail reception, at 7pm dinner and program, followed by dessert reception. Attire is cocktail or global cultural attire. Background is an old photograph from the 90s of a person speaking in front of posters outlining what would become NAPAWF's policy platform

This study asks about the experiences, priorities, and pressures shaping AANHPI women+'s lives today, on issues related to economic, reproductive, and immigrant justice. Read more & download the 3 reports on Reproductive, Economic, and Immigration justice at at napawf.org/research/infocus

Here are some early findings from In Focus, our new annual study examining the issues shaping AANHPI women and gender-expansive people nationwide! 👇

The majority of AANHPI women+ are caregivers, but 42% lack a health care provider for their own reproductive health care needs. Logos of NAPAWF, Sprout Insight, and Lake Research Partners are at the bottom.AANHPI women+ carry significant caregiving responsibilities while navigating economic insecurity, gaps in health care, and fears around immigration status and enforcement. Nearly half are not confident in their economic ability to care for a family member who is seriously ill or injured, aging, or who has chronic health conditions. Among those caring for someone with a serious health or mental health condition, 40% know someone avoiding travel, medical care, work, or other public places because of immigration status.

Then, check if they're already a cosponsor of the EACH Act at www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

If not, ask them to support the EACH Act!

Want to tell your Representative & Senators to support the EACH Act? First, look up your members of Congress at napawf.org/findyourelec...

@napawf.orgSep 30, 2026, 1:32 PM

The Hyde Amendment poses a major barrier between millions of AANHPI women and access to abortion care. The EACH Act would end the Hyde Amendment, require abortion coverage in government health plans and programs, and protect private insurers that choose to cover abortion care.

@napawf.orgSep 30, 2026, 1:32 PM

Among abortion patients in states where Medicaid is not restricted from covering abortion, 45.5 percent of Asian respondents said they used Medicaid to pay for their abortion.

@napawf.orgSep 30, 2026, 1:32 PM

This rule is a violation of our reproductive freedoms and has been deeply harmful to AANHPI women+. About 4.62m Asian women & 613,000 Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander women are enrolled in Medicaid.

Today is the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Hyde Amendment, a law that prohibits the use of federal funds for abortion, with narrow exceptions.

Our hearts are with survivors today and always. Abortion funds and clinics are often support systems for survivors in the aftermath of sexual violence, and we always will be.

Please take care of yourselves during this heavy news cycle and know that we're in this fight with you: nnaf.org/1n.
