Congratulations to Crew-12 on their return home. Special thanks to our ARISS hams Sophie Adenot and Jack Hathaway for their STEM contacts during this mission.

Over 32 contacts were conducted during their 200+ days, and Sophie, KJ5LTN, had 20 in her ham radio log!

When you go around the world every 90 minutes for more than 6 years, you log some miles. World Space Week is a great time to look back to 2020, the initial install of the ARISS IORS Now celebrating a journey of more than 1 Billion Miles! (Or 1.6 B Kilometers!) What an achievement!

Informational ARISS graphic highlighting the InterOperable Radio System (IORS) aboard the International Space Station. The left side shows a close-up photo of IORS radio equipment installed inside the ISS Columbus module, including radios, cables, connectors, and mounting hardware. The right side features a dark blue background with the title “ARISS IORS” and text explaining that ARISS began upgrading ISS radios in 2020 with the new InterOperable Radio System. The graphic states that the Columbus Module radio shown has traveled more than 1 billion miles in orbit while supporting countless FM voice repeater contacts, and that a companion radio in the Russian Service Module has supported APRS and SSTV operations since August 2022. An ARISS logo appears at the bottom.

Just about 1 hour left in ARISS SSTV Series 33 and it's been a very successful event during World Space Week! If you haven't submitted your original decodes yet, get them in to the ARISS gallery before Friday if you want a certificate. Link in the graphic.

Infographic titled “SSTV Series 33 Wrap” on a starry space background. At left are two graphics: a circular Series 33 anniversary-style logo with the number 33 and space-themed artwork, and a promotional SSTV Series 33 image showing the International Space Station above Earth. Text states that more than 2,400 people participated during World Space Week and that original decoded SSTV images may still be submitted at the ARISS SSTV website by 23:59 UTC on Friday, October 9, 2026, to be eligible for a certificate. Regional submission percentages are listed as Europe 47%, Asia 21%, North America 12%, South America 8%, Oceania 3%, Africa 1%, and Antarctica 0.04%, with a note that values are rounded and regions were not provided for all submissions. Self-identified STEM participant data shows educators represented 16% and students 25% of people submitting images. The ARISS logo appears in the lower right corner.
