There is also so great positive data in the paper too, for instance Olivia shows that the lateral spinal nucleus is there in humans, hanging around just off the lateral side of the dorsal horn with a bunch of neuronal cell bodies.

Our latest preprint continues our investigations into spinal mechanisms of human chronic pain! We find no evidence for a loss of neurons in the dorsal horn of donors with chronic lower limb pain, and the ratio of excitatory to inhibitory interneurons also remains consistent between pain states.
