After passing unanimously in committee, my bipartisan Science of Reading Act just passed the House. This legislation will promote evidence-based literacy instruction across the country and help more students build the reading skills they need to succeed.

The high cost of childcare is part of the affordability crisis across this country. The federal government can support the states to lower costs - including protecting Head Start, a successful and popular program that I’ve visited many times and that families have relied on for decades.

Like most of Upstate New York and the people I represent, I’ll keep calling it Lake Ontario. This is just another silly distraction from the Trump White House.
