This flock of birds flew over when I was at Beachy Head, flying east to west along the coast, and I can't work out what they are, though I'm sure someone will know. Photos cropped but unadjusted and not sharp. Any help much appreciated!

Stunning Dark bush-cricket on my drainpipe in the garden just now. She’s so beautiful. Look at those eyes!

They’re Caddisfly eggs.

Lthops hallii in low morning sunlight showing the surface texture and loss of turgidity now that watering is over until next spring. The remnant of this year's flower will remain until next moult is completed.

Migrant Lepidoptera still out in numbers at Dudmaston last week, with several each of Vestal & Clouded Yellow seen.

It was a surprise to get 4 Turtle Bugs (Podops inuncta) out of grass tussocks last Sunday in Perton (Staffs), as I normally only ever find one at a time! #Pentatomidae #Shieldbug

Blimey! That really is a shame… not something I’d have considered happening.

@rockwolf74.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 6:34 PM

Despite growing numbers, I’ve not heard anything about issues with native species, so hopefully they’re not too much of a concern…

One thing that really struck me in Kent last week was the number of Ring-necked Parakeets everywhere now!! I heard far more than I saw, but managed to snap these 2 in Gravesend with the TG-6! #Kent #Birds

Has anyone else ever come across a Wild Strawberry flower looking quite like this? The serrated petal margin is certainly new to me!

A flower of Wild Strawberry, with five white petals around a domed yellow mound covered with pistils which is surrounded by spoon-shaped golden stamens. This flower has unusually serrate petals.

“You cannot be serious!” Not sure if this qualifies for @robcrank68.bsky.social ’s alt #BirdOfTheDay theme #Eating as we watched this Goosander for ages and it never managed to swallow the fish! We think it was probably a young bird learning the ropes! #ECK 🪶

A young? Goosander on the dark waters of the River Coquet in Northumberland with a far-too-big flatfish in its mouth. This fish is upside down in this pic.Young Goosander with a flatfish in its mouth, this time the fish is right-way-up. No way is it going to swallow it!

Apparently, I now have my own QR code! Point your phone at it & it takes you to MY BOOK. No idea how. No mice inside. Disappointing. 🙄 Could you give it a little share & help more people discover me? The FC calls it word of mouth. I prefer word of MEOWTH. 😹🧡🐾
