@egonw

This means, I created https://w3id.org/np/RAWWNwR6ccsRtztmFghqaYzX4KgRH3q8eHGMeaF2zySV0 this year and not "my" CiTO nanopub for the example DOI. 😱

I know what I have to do then: Publish another CiTO nanopub minimum, this year‼️

If we want to regulate AI, why not start with a simple ban on LLMs using "I"?

Easy to build, easy to verify and deflates a hype while still allowing people to use chatbots (so no one can claim we are limiting anything)

My latest for @volkskrant in English! […]

@egonw then yes. I think, I will change the approach, though. In my Snakemake plugin it submits to the test server per default. You need to say I-really-want-to-create-a-nanopub on the command line to publish [edit:] "for real". I envision a similar approach for the GUI, e.g. by dialogue.[/edit] […]

@egonw What do you mean by "the new nanopub"?

Need to work on a few things. AFAIK, signing and licensing are still on the to-do list for the Python-API.

Regarding scalability: IMO, manual labour is always required. But the graphical support and indicating title, DOI and options to choose from […]

@egonw Thanks! (Did bookmark this - need to work on it at a later time. Today is some work to do, but Sunday after all.)

@egonw would you know how to search for your own cito nanopubs? I desperately want to avoid duplicates ... 🙄

@rupdecat.fediscience.org.ap.brid.gyOct 11, 2026, 8:36 AM

@egonw personally, I very much like the idea of searching for cited DOIs using crossref very much. E.g. with this software of mine from https://github.com/cmeesters/nanopub-cito-creator. I have to admit, development ceased due to all my troubles last year. It […]

Screenshot of a tool which creates Citation Ontologies using nanopublications. It receives a DOI and checks for cited references using crossref. If sucessful, the cited DOI is offered and citation types can be crossed using a mouse. Green and red types indicate endorsement types or their opposite, respectively.

@egonw I don't get it to work 🤷‍♂️ . But it is not super important, anyway. Need to pack for a short holiday now.

apparently, 70 of my co-authors are on Mastodon (https://qlever.dev/wikidata/7dwB9n), out of 749 co-authors with items in Wikidata (https://qlever.dev/wikidata/PQ58OM)

I wonder if I am following all of them

@rupdecat.fediscience.org.ap.brid.gyOct 3, 2026, 11:52 AM

@egonw wow! Perhaps your collaborators are more likely to be found on Mastodon?

Unfortunately, the same query replaced with my ORCID gives zero output. Although I do not know how high the number should be, it should definitively be > 0.
