REEL formed when three refugees from The Psychedelic Duelling Wars congealed in the psychic wreckage of a Somerset studio to record Wild Garlick electronica on adapted bits of farm machinery, petrol cans & sine wave generators

Well, all of these are from the formative furnace of the 15-19 year old me, naturally, except the Adam and the Ants which was the first time I realised that music could make you feel a bit funny…

This is somehow still a lot better than the most convincing AI.

@rapideyeelectro.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 6:55 AM

This is awesome

@rapideyeelectro.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 7:12 PM

Almost certain no one’s ever said this before but we’d agree most heartily!

Yay!

Back reading Dostoyevsky again (Demons, this time) & insisting on referring to everyone I know by their full name. 💙📚

Currently reading / listening - both deranged in different ways. Dostoyesky & Kate Folk.

Maybe the kids in those shows just looked like that. I always tell myself that about Boards of Canada sleeves…

Their version of When Tomorrrow Hits is 🔥🔥🔥

@rapideyeelectro.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 7:22 PM

Yeah, Glowing Man soundtracked a day last week - so good

@rapideyeelectro.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 7:21 PM

Yeah, I’ve only bought Swans CDs since To Be Kind

@rapideyeelectro.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 7:02 PM

Yes, excited for that one… Swans have really been hitting the spot, recently… really isn’t anything like them

Raging against the dying of the LPs by finding time to play Swans albums right the way through (on CD). Today it has been Birthing, played loud & soundtracking chores, sitting, dancing, more chores, cooking, cleaning and finally just listening with my eyes closed.

The album sleeve is a Coil - Time Machines -esque mysterious black circle or abyss on pale brown / cardboard.

I am not joking when I say this. Soylent Green is now very, very good and these soulless dorks need to (literally) get into it.

Well, wouldn’t say it was life changing because me & most of my mates loved Orbital & had seen them before but it certainly changed Glastonbury Festival for everyone…

The CD of Orbital live at Glastonbury 1994.

Yesterday was a photographing shipping containers through a rainy windscreen kind of day.

A yellow and green shipping container looking mysterious in some trees. I get the feeling they contain something sinister.

Random moments in TV Shows that have made me inexplicably tear up like a sentimental old drunk.

@rapideyeelectro.bsky.socialSep 8, 2026, 7:44 PM

Actually we’re now self hosting so expect some special downloadable tracks / mixes etc soon.

I’ve often dreamed that they have the same number of letters in the names one to ten eg 1 = a 2 = at 3 = ate 4 = atep 5 = atepe etc - but even its dream logic disappears in a shitstorm of idiocy.

Have been recently listening to that Aphrodite’s Child record for the first time in decades. It’s a lot stranger than I remembered. As a child I think I grouped it with the War of the Worlds record and that awful Rick Wakeman one about the Knights of the Round Table (which I liked at the time)
