It's not just the govt I worry about. So much worry! Why sleep? More time for worry!

Is this where we find out that John Byrne is a paedo?

Worryingly, with folks getting covid repeatedly and the rise/prevalence of LLMs, the collective cognitive capacity will probably start declining soon. If it hasn't already. So, soon we just won't be able to reinvent things! Then we'll have to rely on teh LLMs to tell us to breathe...

I saw a video a while ago showing the exact new whodackies stuck on the walls can be bought at that big diy chain store in the US I can't remember the name of. They've been spray painted gold. Full marks for dictator tat.

I've been playing around with Inky, reworking a short story of mine and it's hard to not get mission creep but I've already downloaded Godot...

Hmm, money does seem to be persuading a few publishers...

I remember a scene from a film where a trans woman turned up to a clinic/convincing someone session in jeans and is told "you clearly aren't serious about being a woman. Start wearing skirts." It's so ridiculous. Perform your gender so we don't have to think for ourselves!

In Greek the idiom for "I don't care" is "I write it/them on my balls" Greek is great for mentions of dick as well. Oh look a sea cucumber --oops, I mean a dick of the sea..

Well, we all know women are incapable of running in the presence of explosions; we'd just fall down crying or some shit. (This is sarcasm! We could do with more women action hero thrillers.)

The people we're talking about here need never work another day in their lives. They still choose yet more money over even whispering, eg, that genocide is bad maybe. How is this different to the tech bro elite or oligarchs?

@nesce.bsky.socialSep 16, 2026, 12:41 PM

There's whole genres of books I call "man running," "man running with explosion," and "woman running."

You've really missed the point here. Being "apolitical" is a political stance. It's saying that you don't care about the world catching fire or people being killed for simply existing, because you'd rather make money.

................. do people just crave an illiterate, ignorant, THOUGHTS ARE JUST TOO HARD FOR MAH BWAIN BWAIN approach to modern life?

@nesce.bsky.socialSep 15, 2026, 5:56 PM

Hmm, well, it depends on the character...

@nesce.bsky.socialSep 15, 2026, 3:22 PM

I've just hit 40k on a second-ish draft of a novel I'm referring to as "vampire witch shit." Yay!

And how to get it back to how it was remains elusive...

@nesce.bsky.socialSep 12, 2026, 12:20 PM

I'm yet to arrive at a firm opinion on this. I struggle with schedules so putting things behind paywalls for paying subscribers puts me in an energy hole. But, I want to get paid for my writing, but I have no audience so I guess I put stuff out for free?

So, I was reading yesterday about how about 40% of Chileans still voted for Pinochet even at the end of his dictatorship, after almost 2 decades of nightmarish shit happening to their neighbours. Because the economic wins made the outright torture worth it? Some folks are scary.
