News is breaking about a powerful earthquake that has struck Panama. Please join us in praying for all who have been affected and those responding. 🙏

A prayer graphic with an image of a candle. It reads:

"God, our strength and our help
in times of trouble,
be with your people now,
in the aftermath of this earthquake.
Move us to come together
offering shelter for the homeless,
rest to the weary
comfort to the injured and distressed
so that although all is unsteady
and faith may be shaken,
the light of your hope shines through.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen."

We celebrated #FamilyFastDay one week ago. 💚

Thanks to all the volunteers who got up to tell Tayla's story in parishes and the clergy welcomed them.

You can still donate to help provide the food and safe water that keeps children in school. ⤵️

An El Niño climate pattern has begun and is expected to be very strong later in the year.

In Zimbabwe, we worked with our Church partner and the local community to build a pump and pipes to ensure access to safe water, even in dry periods. More. ⤵️

Today is the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi and also marks the end of the Season of Creation. 💚

With 2026 being 800 years since his death, Pope Leo declared this to be a special year in which we are all called to become saints in our world.

https://cafod.org.uk/pray/year-of-st-francis

An illustration showing Saint Francis of Assisi holding a sheep with a deer pressing its nose against him.

St Francis loved and believed God wanted people to care for creation. He called all animals his 'brothers' and 'sisters', and is said to have been able to calm wild beasts. He wrote a famous prayer giving thanks to God for the sun, the moon, the water and the earth.

We can all learn from St Francis to love and look after our world, and care for creation."

Harvest is a time to give thanks to God for the gifts of creation and for the food that sustains us.

While we celebrate the food we have, we remember our sisters and brothers around the world who do not have enough.

"Lead us to hunger and thirst for a better world, where we put our faith into action..." 🙏

Take a moment to pray with us at the end of this #FamilyFastDay.

"Living God,
who sent your only Son
to walk among us,
to teach, heal and nourish us,
we sing a song of your praise
and thank you for your gifts.

Grant that we may draw closer to you
through our prayer and our fasting,
opening our eyes to the needs
of our bruised and broken world.

Lead us to hunger and thirst for a better world,
where we put our faith into action
and seek to love our neighbour
so that all your children may flourish.

Amen."

May she accompany their steps and help our communities to become living and credible signs of the Gospel."

Tayla's education was interrupted by a lack of water.

Our local partners in Zimbabwe worked with the community to build a solar-powered pump. Now, the impact goes beyond a reliable, safe water source.
