I had reason to look this up this week - I 'think' Planet of Evil' was the first Doctor Who serial since the last two episodes of The Mind Robber in 1969 to have an October transmission. I'm not sure now why I looked this up or the significance though...

Me after my kids are well beyond four: I wish the kids were four again. I'll watch it anyway with the dog.

Lexx - series 1 and 2 great, series 3 ok, series 4 oh dear.

Wow. Exceptional.

LUNA “ Marquee Moon” at City Winery - Nashville, TN 2nd October 2026

What a great book. The Black Cloud is my favourite of his. Lots of boffins talking about the end of the world, while the end of the world happens.

I enjoyed reading that.

It will be a case of The Nightmare Begins, The Nightmare Continues, The Nightmare Ends

More than faintly terrified as to how well (or not) this could go down...

That looks wonderful!

I like Let Me In alot.

Recent-ish ITV drama/detective programmes: The Blame The Dark The Bay The Widow The Victim The Sister The Loch The Twelve The Suspect The Staircase There must be more...

Goodness me. I'd forgotten about these. Eons ago on a masters course we were looking at modern ongoing series for young adults. I read a few SVH but in the end wrote about the Animorphs books. Apart from that, I remember nothing about the books or what I wrote about!

My old Masters course in Children's Literature at Reading University got closed down (by the uni) this academic year because the university put the fees up so high it made it unaffordable for students. I felt both sad and baffled about such a daft decisions/s.

That must be maddening.

I might be totally wrong but I recall a mention somewhere that it was the site of a brewery - either the brewery itself or its offices.

I 'think' some scenes for The Invasion were filmed in Wallingford. It was just one day and was for a roof shot of International Electromatics factory.

Not sure everyone else wanted it, but this was with me for years.
