Yes!!!

Everytime I mention that BlueSky is just not good for non-US global news and discussion, I get piled on. BlueSky is great for many, many reasons, but the rest of the world is still very much on Twitter / X. What is happening in India is *massive*.

MAAH Stone Book Award knows how to show some love for the study of African American History & Culture!!! It was great to be in the house to celebrate with so many folk I adore!

Everything Solnit says… because this is know-your-place aggression, too.

Once in college, I was in the window seat on a flight talking to a lovely older woman who had just come back from Greece. We talked the whole flight in large part because I didn’t want her to turn and see that the man across the aisle was jacking off the entire flight.

There are always folk doing things I would never think someone would do. …as if I needed more proof than *gestures wildly*

This will be a thread of essays I recommend to students in my creative nonfiction workshop:

It's a luxury to believe the fringe elements of the anti-abortion movement don't affect mainstream policy, because they do. Trump's FDA is 'reviewing' the safety of mifepristone based on a fake study, but they've postponed action until after the midterms. Women are expendable to them.

Not to be cynical here, but as someone who works in abortion rights I can tell you a substantial portion of the anti-abortion movement - Josh Hawley, Ken Paxton, "Students for Life" - opposes women getting an abortion regardless of circumstances. Ken Paxton blocked Kate Cox's abortion repeatedly.

CALL ARIZONA U.S. Senators! Let them know they are attacking community members who are protecting their land. Demand federal agents leave tribal land.
