The future of the station now depends on its owner, the railway company. The pressure of citizens, VVIA and the #7ME Programme has shown how important it is.

The #7ME selection gave the campaign international standing and a stronger voice with the press and local authorities. The Flemish Association for Industrial Archaeology (VVIA) continues to campaign against demolition and for the station's sustainable reuse.

Rebuilt in 1951 to a design by architect Pierre Albert Pauwels, Kortrijk Railway Station is a remarkable example of the Expo 58 style. Under threat of demolition, it was included on Europe's #7MostEndangered list in 2023.

🏆 A local ceremony was held for Din l-Art Ħelwa – The National Trust for Malta, a 2026 #EuropeanHeritageAward / Europa Nostra Award winner (co-funded by @creativeeurope.bsky.social) on 2 October.

🇲🇹 Founded in 1965, Din l-Art Ħelwa has restored 60+ landmarks & numerous works of art👏

🏆 On 2 October, a local ceremony celebrated the Dome of the Church of Escuelas Pías in Valencia, a 2026 #EuropeanHeritageAward / Europa Nostra Award winner (co-funded by @creativeeurope.bsky.social).

Its restoration combined traditional craftsmanship with advanced research & technology 👏
