I am also team skunk, although I might have misrepresented my views by wearing an owl shirt to the meeting (the skunks natural predator):
Epilogue: Mammals are fur-bearing, warm-blooded animals that birth live babies (not eggs.).......tell that to the MONOTREMES KPH.
Ok, the plan is coalescing on contracting fur trappers, who cannot charge for their trapping.
Remember the skunks will NOT be removed to some skunk haven.
"It has changed the quality of my life. I have considered moving."
HOW do we put together a comprehensive plan across the 3 neighborhoods??? This just feels like they are blaming the 300 blocks of Kenwick.
Pro tip #2: No licenced professional is relocating skunks, they be meeting their maker. BUT you CAN hire a licensed fur trapper......but they still aren't relocating them.
Pro tip: put a radio under your porch or shed so skunks find another home. Seems like you might also want to find a new home if that is how you need to live your life.
Update: the HORSE got rabies from a SKUNK!
Once again, the moral of the story is keep your cats INSIDE!
Important update, rabies vaccine no longer given in the butt (muscles).
Last year, one rabid horse exposed 14 people to rabies. Vaccinate your horses, Kentucky.
We just got clarification that looking at a skunk with rabies does not mean you have been exposed to rabies.
Ok, do not send your brains via USPS, they will turn to goo.
Now we are talking about bat brains!!! Should I disclose my expertise?
In Kentucky we only have bat and skunk rabies...racoon rabies stops along the Appalachian Mountains thanks to a cool treatment program run out of USDA (or maybe FWL, we have moved on to the next slide).
The vet from the CDC is now here and giving us information about rabies.
One woman is being reasonable and telling people to keep their cats indoors and not leave cat food outside. But now it seems to be the restaurants' faults.
"Can we relocate all the skunks?" "But is that fair to the animal?"
Next concern, it is going to decrease our property values!!
