Reviewer for animeuknews.net as well as for my own site Hoganreviews.co.uk, where I cover not just anime but also Doctor Who, gaming, films, TV, comics and whatever else takes my fancy.
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialYes, I believe it was released in the US under the Final Fantasy Legend name in 1990, but the OST is the same. The Doki Doki effect!
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialThe poor cover artists trying to fit the logo on the spine is who I feel the most for.
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialHa, this is why I love this medium...
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialUnlike the console releases, which had some breaks for stuff I wasn't that familiar with, these are all tough ones going forward! 1. Duck Tales 2. TMNT (NES) 3. Castlevania III 4. Tetris 5. Super Mario Land 6. Final Fight 7. Batman (NES) 8. SaGa 9. River City Ransom 10. Golden Axe
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialMy latest review for @animeuknews.net and it's for "Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylona - Part 1", a title so long I've nearly ran out of characters for this post. Oh well, you'll just have to read the review then!
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialSuper obvious at the top! Never had a PC Engine but can't deny 4 and 5 retroactively... 1. Mega Man 2 2. Super Mario Bros. 3 3. Blaster Master 4. Ys II 5. Snatcher 6. Ninja Gaiden 7. Double Dragon II 8. Robocop (in honour of the later GameBoy port...) 9. Gradius II 10. Operation Wolf
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialExciting! Unlike the Castlevania and Mega Man marathons I've actually played all the RE games, extensively in the case of most of them, so this will be a different viewing experience for me. Hope you have fun!
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialAnother year where it's hard to not just pick the obvious ones, they're obvious for a reason! 1. Mega Man 2. Punch-Out! 3. Castlevania II 4. Doki Doki Panic (really for SMB2...) 5. Zelda II 6. Final Fantasy 7. Phantasy Star 8. Shinobi 9. After Burner 10. Metal Gear
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialDang, I missed a couple I didn't think of on my list last week. Still more confident going forward as one of the GVG "oldies" who were around at the time...
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialThis was quite the year for iconic soundtracks! 1. Castlevania 2. The Legend of Zelda 3. Gradius 4. Metroid 5. Outrun 6. Alex Kidd in Miracle World 7. Fantasy Zone 8. Dragon Quest 9. Bubble Bobble 10. Wonder Boy A nice mix of undeniable NES classics and Master System games from my childhood.
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialGot up to seven, but yeah... still early days for soundtracks! 1. Super Mario Bros. 2. Tetris 3. Excitebike 4. Super Hang On (Arcade) 5. Space Harrier (Arcade) 6. Gyromite 7. Wrecking Crew (It's catchy, don't know if that's good or not though!)
@coldcobra84.bsky.socialThat's nearly a Pokemon movie every day for a month though so.... yum-yum? ... I don't know where I was going with that post. Sorry.
