I hesitate to express anything but love and admiration for any Cure track, but while I don’t dislike A Fragile Thing, it doesn’t move me like other songs. It’s fascinating how some are absolute hits to aome people and not to others and impossible to say what makes the difference.

A different mistake but I was obsessed with them in my youth, then a song/album put me off and I drifted for 25 years, missing all of the brilliant stuff they did inbetween. Woke from my coma in 2024 and realised my stupidity. Now seen them live twice this year- never going back. They’re the best.

I’m so an admirer of independent mindedness. That’s one reason I love the artists and bands I do. Pioneers, not ones to fit in. So yes, I’m so pleased she doesn’t aim to please others.

I agree with the fan on The Cure episode of BBC Radio 6 Superfans who said that often if good music doesn’t grab you between the ages of 13-18 it might never. So many fans on there, me included, were enchanted at 13/14.

She might come full circle. My daughter finds it difficult to believe that just 1.5 yrs ago she was a Swiftie and didn’t like The Cure. Now she adores The Cure, has seen them live and wants to divert her Berlin school trip to Hansa studios 🤣 And doesn’t rate Swift.
