I like that @keithamus.social keeps trying to carry old things across the finish line. It's such a shame that so many thing fizzle after so much work and good ideas. The web needs more (paid) people doing this.

there’s been quite a debate should this actually, for k23 all internal spinlocks now use closure-based access ie mutex.with_lock(|val| {}) for exactly your reason but for std it was decided that the guard pattern is strictly more powerful and flexible
